Childcare Education & Training Supplement (CETS) Scheme for Parents / Trainees
From the 1st of September 2010 the new Childcare Education and Training Support Scheme (CETS) came into effect. The CETS scheme will support the childcare needs of Parents / participants in training and educational courses operated by FÁS and Vocational Education Committees (VECs). CETS combines the existing childcare support payments for qualifying FÁS and VEC trainees into one capitation system for providing free childcare places. Nationally the scheme has provision for approximately 3,000 full time equivalent places, with a number of private and community childcare providers participating in the scheme in North Tipperary. Trainees will be advised of the availability of childcare places in their area by their local FÁS or VEC centre.
